HP 8530 laptop work with a Dell M409 DLP Projector

I have an InFocus DLP projector that I use in my home for cable/tv/dvd’s etc…it’s mounted on my wall…it’s silver, about 10 in. x 10 in….I’ve had little to no trouble with it and owned it since 2005…today it stated to make a whirring sound when turned on…but the start up screen still comes up and everything else works fine…anyone got any ideas…is it the motor? Any common problems?

I am thinking of gettin a DLP HD projector by infocus, are projectors worth it? I have a white wall and wouldn’t need a screen, and I want to have the best picture I can. I have a 20" EDTV but I don’t know if I’m getting the best from my picture….

I have a high def receiver cable box from my cable company which hooks into my TV, and I get the HD channels and they look GREAT. So I know the TV is perfectly capable of handling an HD signal. The problem is that it’s HD ready only (it’s a Samsung HD 1080i "monitor"). I want to get the most out of my XBox, but I’m having a hard time with it.

I bought an XBox Arcade system, which I’m being told should be able to output up to 1080p. However, the maximum resolution my TV can handle from the XBox is 480p. I bought a component cable, it’s set to HD and not TV (I know it works because I set it to TV for poops ‘n giggles and the XBox told me to switch it back to HDTV). When I change it to anything other than 480p, the screen goes crazy and i have to let it change itself back to 480p.

I’m wondering if there’s some kind of box I need to buy that will go between the XBox and my TV that will make the signal "friendlier." My cable box won’t allow composite "in," otherwise that might work. Ugh!
